Alma Blanche Beasley, 67, of College Corner, Ohio, went home to be with her King on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio, after a brave struggle with kidney disease.
Alma was born on September 4, 1947 in Colson, Kentucky, to Curtis and Gertrude (Everidge) Banks. Her family moved to Ohio when she was 12. She graduated from Union High School in 1967, and then began a career as a bank teller. On August 28, 1976, she married William Beasley in Rushville, IN. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1988.
Alma was a staple of the College Corner community. From her high level of involvement in school activities for her daughter, to her many years of friendly service at Farmers State Bank, few in College Corner did not get to know her, and all have fond memories of their exchanges with her. Most important to Alma was her family; from her beloved daughter and grandchildren to her brothers, sisters and extended family members, she always put family first and never hesitated to sacrifice for them. Alma’s greatest joys in life called her Grandma, and the love she showered them with was endless.
Alma is survived by one child, a daughter, Regina, and her husband Scott Schroer of Fairfield Township. She also leaves behind one granddaughter Lillie and one grandson, Jayson, both of Fairfield Township; and four honorary grandsons, Joshua, Brian, Noah, and Logan Rinck of Richmond, IN. Also surviving are a sister, Ada Sturgill of Whitesburg, KY; two brothers, Bennie (Charlotte) Banks and Wilgus (Sue) Banks, both of College Corner; along with several nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband William Beasley; her parents, Curtis and Gertrude Banks; a brother, Charles Banks; and a sister, Earlene Rinck.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Brookville Road Baptist Church located at 1066 Hetrick Road in Bath, Indiana, with Pastor Roy VanWinkle officiating.
