Lifelong Connersville resident, Ann Applegeet, 97, died September 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born to Perry and Pearl Meyer Scott on July 7, 1923. She attended and graduated from Everton High School. Ann was a dedicated school aide at various schools in Fayette County and was also a former employee at the Fayette County library. Ann enjoyed participating in volunteer projects for local nursing homes. She was an avid reader, who promoted the importance of reading to others. She also enjoyed sewing and was actively involved with the American Business Women’s Association. Ann was a member of United Methodist Church. Ann is survived by her son: Keith Applegeet and his wife Charlotte of Valdosta, Georgia; her daughter: Karen Lanning and her husband Gary of Connersville; sister-in-law: Wanetta Scott of Connersville; family member: Carol Dungan Applegeet of Dayton, Ohio; Grandchildren: Melissa Sparks, Melinda Lanning both of Connersville, Angie Applegeet and her husband Andrew Patterson of Lebanon, Tennessee, Bruce Ingram, Robbie Ingram, Sherrie Scarborough all of Florida; great-grandchildren: Gus Sparks, Walker Lanning, Spencer Dye all of Connersville, Savana Scarborough, Tanner Scarborough, Bruce Ingram IV, Andrew Ingram, Malorie Ingram, Zach Ingram, and Max Ingram all of Florida along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her brothers: Fred Scott and Floyd Scott; her sister: Helen Lambert; her grandson: Andrew Applegeet. A funeral service for Ann will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Showalter Blackwell Long Myers Chapel, Connersville with Malcom Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Everton cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Public Library or Friends of the Library. Following the CDC and State COVID guidelines masks are required and social distancing must be followed.
