Connersville, Indiana Annabelle Huffman Noah, 78, of Connersville, died early Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, at her daughter’s residence. Annabelle was born in Greensburg, March 15, 1936 to Herschel Leroy and Dorothy Powers Miers and graduated from Milton High School in 1954. Annabelle was employed at Visteon and its predecessors for more than thirty-five years. During her first husband, L. Max Huffman’s tenure as Fayette County Sheriff, she attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and served as jail matron. Annabelle was a firearms instructor and competed as an expert in firearm competitions. For the last fifteen years, Annabelle and her second husband, Douglas resided in Palm Harbor, Florida. She enjoyed collecting dolls, Longaberger baskets and was a Pampered Chef dealer. Annabelle also enjoyed crafts, crocheting and sewing blankets and quilts. Annabelle is survived by her husband, Douglas Noah, whom she married on November 19, 1994 at Calvary Baptist Church; her children: Darlena Rae Roberts of Connersville; Chris A. Huffman and his wife, Phyllis of Everton; Brad D. Huffman and his wife, Kristin A. of St. Peters, Missouri; Dane A. Huffman and his companion, Julie Nash of Connersville; her step-daughter: Connie Risch of Connersville; her sisters: Connie Cooper and her husband, Tim; Linda Hisle, all of Connersville; her brothers: Larry Miers and his wife, Loretta of New Castle; Gale Miers and his wife, Brenda, of Connersville; Herschel “Junior” Miers, of Cambridge City; her daughter-in-law: Debbie Huffman of Connersville; her sister-in-law: Peggy Miers of Indianapolis; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Annabelle’s caregivers: Julie Nash and Anna Brown. In addition to her parents, Annabelle was preceded in death by her first husband, L. Max Huffman; her son: Max L. Huffman; her son-in-law: Ronnie Roberts; her brother: Loren Miers; her sister-in-law: Rose Miers; her brother-in-law: Elmer Hisle; her step mother: Helena Powers Miers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Shawn Hamilton and Eric Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Grove Cemetery, Wayne County, Indiana. Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette Regional Health System Hospice.
