Ayla Lou Wollyung, 4, died Saturday, November 5, 2016.
The daughter of Cory and Sarah VanWinkle Wollyung, Ayla was born July 5, 2012 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Ayla attended preschool at Little Blessings and loved participating in Sunday school at Harmony Road Church. Ayla will be remembered for her love of coloring, make-up, American Girl dolls and dressing up like the princess she was. She especially loved making messes, getting dirty outside and picking flowers. Ayla was a fearless swimmer and enjoyed the beach.
Ayla is survived by her parents: Cory and Sarah Wollyung of Liberty; her brothers: Austin and Andrew Wollyung of Liberty; her paternal grandparents: Steve and Carmen Wollyung of Connersville; Susie and Doug Carr of Hamilton; her maternal grandparents: Dean and Betty VanWinkle of College Corner; her paternal great-grandfather: Don Clevenger of Liberty; her maternal great-grandmother: Janice VanWinkle of College Corner; her aunts and their spouses: Rachel Schlichter and Josef of Liberty; Samantha Blades and Brad of Brookville; Stephanie Hunt and Joe of Erie, Pennsylvania; Casie Sandlin and Nick of College Corner; her uncle: Joshua VanWinkle of College Corner; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
The Celebration of Ayla’s life will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Liberty Church of Christ with her grandfather, Pastor Dean VanWinkle and her great-uncle, Roy VanWinkle officiating. Friends may visit Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, and from noon until the time of service Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Road Church. Ayla’s family invites the public to bring a stuffed toy that will be donated to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
