Barry L. Ripberger, 74 of Connersville, died Saturday evening, September 30, 2017 at Reid Health, Richmond.
The son of James Herbert and Thelma Mae Lyons Ripberger, Barry was born September 15, 1943 at Camp Atterbury, Edinburgh, Indiana. In 1961, he graduated from Harrisburg High School and honorably enlisted in the United States Navy. Barry was a welder by trade and was previously employed at Mormon Brothers, Rushville and retired from Armor Metal, formerly in Madison, Indiana. Barry was naturally artistic and creative; he displayed his talent through pen and ink drawings of covered bridges, paintings and woodworking crafts.
Barry is survived by his children: Adam L. Ripberger of Connersville; Cherry L. Whipple of Austin, Texas; Richard L. Ripberger and his wife, Lisa; Timothy Ripberger and his wife, Angie, all of Lafayette, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sisters: Barbara Kaye Devito and her husband, Mick; Gloria Dobbs and her companion, Geoff Thompson of Bloomington; Beverly Hill and Paul, of Georgetown, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of twenty-seven years, Diana L. Ripberger, who died May 3, 2017.
