Betty J. Morford, 81, of Connersville, died Wednesday afternoon, November 12, 2014, at Fayette Regional Health System.
Betty was born August 15, 1933 in Bicknell, Indiana to Frank and Nell Blakley Sampson and attended Connersville area schools. On May 27, 1950 Betty was married to Kenneth Y. Morford, who died May 21, 2006. Together, they owned and operated Pizza King Restaurants in Connersville and also owned and operated Morford Sales as a supplier to area restaurants. Betty was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed helping the local school children and attending bible study. Betty most enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Luke.
Betty is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Judy and Mike Selke; Janny and Rodger Keal, all of Brownsville; her grandsons: Chad Selke; Seth Selke and his wife, Stephanie; Justin Keal and his wife, Meghan; Andy Keal and his wife, Lindsey; her great-grandchildren: Megan Selke, Katie Selke, Madison Selke, Ian Keal, Chloe Keal, Abby Keal, Rylie Keal; a great-great-granddaughter on the way; several nieces and nephews; her special friend: Toots Poe; her beloved dog: Luke.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty is preceded in death by her sister: Mary Lou Hedrich.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor John Reynolds of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 until the time of service Monday where memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church food pantry.
