Bob Jennings, 62, of Connersville, died September 4, 2013, at his residence. Bob was born in Connersville, January 27, 1951 to Robert O. and Shirley Kay Jones Jennings. He attended school in Hialeah, Florida. In 1969, he entered the U.S. Navy where he honorably served with the rank of Torpedoman’s Mate Seaman aboard the USS Thomas Jefferson. On March 16, 1974, he was married in Connersville to the former Beth C. Sherwood, who died July 16, 2003. In 2003, Bob retired from Visteon and its predecessors following 32 years of service. Bob was a collector of firearms and enjoyed studying and collecting gemstones. Bob is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Ryan M. and Amanda F. Jennings of Connersville; four grandchildren: Elera E., Alexandra M., Zyan R.M., and Dreydyn R.S. Jennings; two half-brothers: Bill Miller of Miami, Florida and Jerry Miller of Indiana. In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his father and his mother: Shirley K. Haywood. Public graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville with military graveside honors. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
