Braiden D. Saffell, 15, of Rushville, died early Sunday morning at Rush Memorial Hospital, Rushville.
Braiden was born in Oxford, Ohio, August 22, 1995 to Brian D. and Kelly M. Mueller Saffell. He attended elementary school in New Palestine and had just completed his freshman year at Rushville High School. Braiden ran track and excelled academically. He was interested in pursuing a career in psychology and occupational therapy. He enjoyed reading, learning, art and was known as the ‘class clown.’ He was a student of karate and had recently achieved his orange belt. Braiden had received his learners driving permit and was looking forward to restoring his 1969 Volkswagen Bus. In his leisure time, Braiden played video games and attended concerts. He had been employed at Pioneer Seed Corn this summer.
Braiden is survived by his parents, his paternal grandparents: Susie and Tim Rogers of Connersville, Terry and Marie Saffell of Rushville; his maternal grandparents: Jerry and Marilyn Mueller of Connersville; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Braiden is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Rita L Mueller , his great-grandparents, including Josephine Carver, aunts, and uncles, including Brad Duncil
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Rev. Stanley J. Herber of Saint Gabriel Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery.
