Brenda K. Mclaughlin

College Corner resident, Brenda K. McLaughlin, 72, died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Kettering Health Hamilton. Brenda was born to Robert L. and Alma M. Gross Jenkins on August 27, 1950 in Hamilton, Ohio. She graduated from Talawanda High School and furthered her education at Miami University. In addition to her studies there, Brenda was employed at Miami University as a custodian until her retirement in 1995. Brenda was strong in her faith, never going to bed without reading her Bible. She was a caring woman with a wonderful sense of humor, and the ability to tell you how she truly felt. In her spare time Brenda enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and stopping at a good yard-sale to hunt for a bargain. She was an excellent cook, who canned all of her homegrown vegetables and homemade jellies. She adored spending time with her family and preparing holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving dinner. She will be deeply missed by all who know and love her. Brenda is survived by Bill McLaughlin; daughters: Billie Jo Rose and her husband, Gary, Lori Wichman; son: Ted Herring; brothers: Donald Jenkins and Judy, Jeffery Jenkins and Debi; sister: Becky Jenkins; grandchildren: Brandon Rose, Brooklyn Rose, April Hughes, Crystal Blanton, and Glen Blanton; several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her brothers: Robert L. Jenkins Jr., William Buck, Ronnie Gross, James Jenkins, Harold Jenkins, Michael Jenkins; sisters: Bobbie Jo Ward, Faye Gross; canine companion: Sofie. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Baker Chapel, College Corner with Pastor Roy VanWikle officating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12:00p.m., until the time of service. Burial will follow at New London Cemetery in Shandon, Ohio.
