C. Odette Brewer

Connersville, IN C. Odette Brewer, 78, of Connersville, died Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Reid Hospital, Richmond. Odette was a Connersville native, born December 18, 1932 to Nicholas and Louise Sappelt Pierí. She was a 1950 graduate of Connersville High School and was a member of St. Gabriel Church. For 30 years, she was employed at Ford Electronics, retiring in 1995 as an executive secretary. Odette enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and camping. In her spare time, she liked to quilt, work in her garden and make crafts. Odette was an accomplished seamstress. Odette is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Vernon, whom she married February 2, 1952 in Connersville; three children: Steven J. Brewer of Lynchburg, Virginia, Mary R. Brochin and her husband, Charles, John W. Brewer, all of Connersville; four grandchildren and their spouses: Brandon Smith and Kristin of Lafayette, Kaleb Brewer of Connersville, Michelle Brochin LaRue and Troy of Dublin, Ohio, Tracey Brochin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren: Zach, Joe and Katie LaRue, Noah and Heidi Smith; a brother: Nick Pieri and his wife, Arlene of Connersville; two sisters: Mary Mendoza of Barstow, California, Elaine Carney and her husband, Ed of Wilmington, Delaware; several nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her parents, Odette was preceded in death by her sister: Anna Shannon and a grandson, Chris Brochin. Private graveside services will be conducted at Dale Cemetery with Rev. Stanley J. Herber of St. Gabriel Church officiating. There will be no public visitation.
