Carol S. Fox, 75, of Connersville died February 20, 2017.
A Connersville native, Carol was born May 22, 1941 to Robert James and Mary Ann Reeder Klopp and was a 1959 graduate of Connersville High School. Carol was married to Okla C. Fox in September 1959. Carol was previously employed as a cook at Pizza Hut and as the night secretary at the vocational school. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Carol had a passion for music, especially gospel and Elvis Presley. She quickly learned to play the piano by ear and played the Ukulele. Carol was a wonderful cook and a very generous woman who enjoyed helping others. In her leisure time, Carol loved playing bingo and taking her chances on the slot machines at area casinos. She also enjoyed needle crafts like crocheting and pretty punch.
Carol is survived by her children and their spouses: James E. Fox and Susan Stockton of Woodburn, Oregon; Vicki Routzahn and Jeffrey of Cumming, Georgia; her grandchildren: Dennis Fox; Kristin Fox; Christopher Routzahn; her great-grandson: Roy Goldsby; her siblings and their spouses: Gary L. Klopp and Katie of Fort Wayne; George E. Klopp and Doris of Charlotte, North Carolina; Linda Lou Turner and Winfred of Mooresville; her sister-in-law: Opal Klopp of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her siblings: Robert R. Klopp; David W. Klopp; William F. “Bill” Klopp; her sister-in-law: Judith A. Klopp; several uncles and aunts including Phyllis Reeder.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2016 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor John Reynolds of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery, section J. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
