Carol L. Hisle, 76, of Connersville, died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Carol was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, August 7, 1936, to Curtis G. and Evelyn B. Roberts Macdonald. She was a graduate of Stoneham High School and on August 17, 1956, she was married in the St. James United Methodist Church there to Robert “Bob” Hisle. For several years, she was employed as the Mortgage Department Manager at Stoneham Savings Bank. She was a former member of the St. James United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and has attended Calvary Baptist Church over the past twenty-five years. Carol had been employed locally for two years at Fayette Bank and Trust. Carol’s favorite pastime was pursuing genealogy and she had traced their families back to their entrance to the country on the Mayflower. She also was an avid reader of novels and in her younger years, Carol enjoyed collecting coins.
Carol is survived by her children and their spouses: Cindy L. Ailes and Toby of Connersville; Robert A. Hisle and Stephanie of Scottsdale, Arizona; Jeffrey D. Hisle of Connersville; six grandchildren: Curtis Ailes of Indianapolis, Lori Ailes of Connersville, Nicole Hisle, Brittany Hisle, both of Richmond; Christopher and Alex Hisle, both of Scottsdale, Arizona; seven great-grandchildren; a sister: Kathy Mitchell of Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years who died November 16, 2007; an infant son, John William Hisle and a sister Barbara Evangelista.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor John Reynolds of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday where memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
