Carolyn J. Fields, 77, of Liberty died Monday, August 26, 2024, at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. The daughter of Everette and Ellen (Pheanis) Horn, Carolyn was born in Wayne County, Indiana on Christmas Day, 1946. She graduated from Short High School in 1964. Carolyn married Arthur F. “Art” Fields on December 4, 1965. She was employed Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Homes for many years and was later employed at Stant Manufacturing. Carolyn formerly attended Four-Mile Church of the Brethren. In her leisure time, you could find Carolyn in her garden tending to her flowers or watching the cardinals and hummingbirds. She enjoyed weekend shopping trips with her daughters and attending family events, especially a good fish fry. In addition, she loved traveling to Florida for the winters with Art. Carolyn’s family meant the world to her and she meant the world to them. She will be dearly missed by all who know and love her. Carolyn is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Anita Kay Fields (Freddie) Lakes, Lisa Marie (Josh) Miller; step-daughter: Shelley Lee Fields Sorrell; step-son: Arthur F. “Bud” Fields Jr; brother: John L. Horn; grandchildren: Sarah (Greg) Dunaway, Stacey (Casey) Allen, Kara (Doug) Parsons, Kayla (Josh) Morgan; step-grandchildren: Natasha (Fiance - Ronnie) Cornell, Cody (Morgan) Sorrell, Kyla Miller, Cooper Miller, Gracelynn Miller; great-grandchildren: Paige Dunaway, Mackinzey Carter, Madison Dunaway, Braylee Parson, William Ray Carter, Alyssa Allen, Jayden Parsons, Kayden Parson, Jaxon Morgan; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents: Everette and Ellen, and her loving husband of forty-seven years: Art, Carolyn is preceded in death by her granddaughter: Shelby Nichole Sorrell; son-in-laws: Scott Messer and Duane “Duke” Sorrell. A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be conducted at convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Post 122 in Liberty.
