Carolyn L. Leach, 69, of Connersville died Monday night, October 6, 2014, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
A Connersville native, Carolyn was born February 1, 1945 to Charles and Lloyd “Erma” Stricker Lyons. She attended Connersville area schools where she received her general education diploma. On June 25, 1960 Carolyn was married to Norman E. Leach. She retired from Pizza King after eight years of service. In her leisure time, Carolyn enjoyed spending time at home and in her garden. She also enjoyed the company of her parrot, Earthquake.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Carolyn is survived by her children and their spouses: Eunice Jordan and David; Tonja Tiemann and Donald; Norman C. Leach and Polly, all of Connersville; her grandchildren: Chris Jordan of Connersville; Tasha Ritter of Plainfield; Tyler Leach of Connersville; Michael Lathery of Noblesville; Kara Tiemann; Kim Tiemann, both of Fountain City; fifteen great-grandchildren; her beloved parrot: Earthquake.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Charles Lyons and two infant siblings.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Kara Bussabarger of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of service Monday where memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Health Foundation for Organ Procurement.
