Christine Boling Shera, 95, of Normal Illinois and formerly of College Corner, died Friday, October 14, 2011.
Christine was born on February 6, 1916 in Hamilton, Ohio to Robert L. and Della W. Tatman Boling. She married Lloyd H. Shera in Liberty on March 17, 1936. Christine retired from Miami University as the Martin Dinning Hall manager and volunteered for many years at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. Christine was a member of the College Corner United Methodist Church and enjoyed many of the groups at the church. She was a dedicated mother and wife.
Survivors include two sons and their wives: Thomas L. and Mary Shera of Marietta, Georgia; Frank and Ellen Shera of Carmel, Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and David Morrow of Normal, Illinois; daughter-in-law: Kris Shera of Covington, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding Christine in death are her parents; husband; a son: Vincent S. Shera; three siblings: Elsie Dulli, Gale Boling, and Evelyn Monteque.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner with Pastor Paul Ayers of Liberty officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, where memorial contribution may be made to the College Corner United Methodist Church.
