Chucky Lucas

Chucky Lucas, 36, of Connersville, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Fayette Regional Health System. Born January 1, 1981 in Connersville, Chucky was the son of Charles E. and Gloria Clark Lucas. He was a 1999 graduate of Connersville High School and went on to attend Vincennes University. Chucky was an avid fan of Duke University basketball and played basketball in the local Men’s League. He enjoyed watching wrestling and listening to music especially his favorite band, Tool. Chucky had been employed at Stant Manufacturing. Chucky is survived by his daughters: Bailey R. Lucas and Chloe Newcomer, both of Connersville; his father: Chuck Lucas and stepmother, Becky of Laurel; his mother: Gloria J. Clark of Connersville; his sister: Cassy McDaniel and her husband, James of Brookville; grandmothers: Rose McQueen of Milroy, Serena Lee of Connersville; step-brother: Jared Dowd and his wife, MaLeea of Connersville; step-sister: Jaynelle Adams and her husband, John of Laurel; aunts: Diana Cox and Kim Harrison; a special aunt: Bonnie Pollock; uncles: Chester, John and Charles Clark; nieces, nephews and cousins. Chucky is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Melva Clark, his paternal grandfathers: Kenneth Lucas and Glendon McQueen; and uncles: Anthony Lucas and Mark David Clark. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Dennis Perkins officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 to 2 p.m. Saturday where memorial contributions may be made to the Parks Department Recreation Program.
