Clarice "Joy" Hapner

Clarice “Joy” Hapner, 94, of Connersville passed away on December 6, 2019 at Reid Health of Richmond. She was born on April 11, 1925 to Emerson and Vivian Gully in Dayton, Ohio. Joy was a 1943 graduate of Harrisburg High School. She married Norman F. Hapner on April 22, 1974. Joy was employed as an admitting supervisor at the former Fayette Memorial Hospital from which she retired in 1978. Joy truly enjoyed traveling. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Joy is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Denise Hartzell and Michael, Debi C. Brannon and Jim; sisters: Patricia Morris, Phyllis Lake; brother: Terrell Gully; 9 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Keith Lucas; Daughter: Shelley B. Creech; sister: Iris Fuller; 2 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 1p.m with burial to follow at the Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 11:00 am until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s choice in honor of Joy.
