Curtis M. Baker, 90, died Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Curtis was born to Curtis N. and Frankie Kincaid Baker on February 2, 1931, in Alderson, West Virginia. On October 10, 1950, he married the former Helen I. Wilson in Virginia. Curtis was a plumber prior to retiring from Ford Manufacturing in 1986. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his flowers, fishing, hunting, and listening to bluegrass music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. Curtis faithfully attended Connersville Baptist Temple. Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 70 years: Helen I. Baker, of Connersville; his son: Ronnie L. Baker and wife Janice of Connersville; two grandchildren: Josetta Wiwi and her husband Jay; Rebecca Bruns and her husband Lance, all of Brookville; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson: Jonathan Tinch; brothers: Darrell Baker, Maine Baker; sisters: Rossel DeNicola, Macel Ashcraft, Paulette Hays, Claudette Hayes. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Revered George Nester of Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel North Cemetery, in Franklin County. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Connersville Baptist Temple. Due to CDC guidelines face masks are required and social distancing will be maintained.
