Daniel J. Maloney

Daniel J. Maloney, 75, of Connersville, died Thursday, August 4, 2011at his residence. Daniel was born on July 23, 1936 to Leonard and Alice Marcile Helt Maloney in Lima, Ohio. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Delphos, Ohio and entered in the United States Air Force in 1954 where he served in North Africa during the Korean War until his discharge in 1962. On April 17, 1976 Daniel married the former Mary Kathleen Kramer in St. Paul, Indiana. Daniel worked for Finesta in Lima, Ohio for 12 years, the HH Robertson, Connersville Casket Company, Design & Manufacturing for 20 years, and BCA in Greensburg until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, coon hunting with his dogs, going to flea markets and wood crafts. Survivors include his children and their spouses: Vicki and Robert Thurston of Brownsville; Terrie Finney, Laura Fischer Scudder both of Greensburg; Linda and Chris Mustin, Robin K. Selby, all of Connersville; Juli and Danny Gilchrist of Freeport, Texas; Deanne Fisher of Teague, Texas; Georgetta and Brett Hartman of Liberty; sister: Elizabeth Schmelzer of Delphos, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, wife, two children: David J. Maloney and Diane M. Maloney; a step-daughter: Leanne Winstead; two brothers: Michael C. Maloney, Leonard R. Maloney; a sister: Margaret Ann Gengler; and a son-in-law: Timothy B. Selby. There will be no public funeral service or visitation following cremation.
