Danny Joe Roszell, Sr.

Danny Joe Roszell, Sr., 51, of Connersville, died Monday evening, October 28, 2013, at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, following a lengthy illness. Danny was born November 4, 1961 in Connersville to Robert Earl and Patricia Louise Rairden Roszell. He was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City and had been employed as a supervisor at Keener Corporation. Danny loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his baby son and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and coon hunting. Danny is survived by his children and their spouses: Shelly Ann Lane and Gale of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Danny Joe Roszell, Jr. and Elizabeth; David Earl Roszell; Desiree Nicole Halcomb and Justin; Jacob Dakota Roszell, all of Connersville; four grandchildren: Clayton, Skylar, Faith and James; step-mother: Loretta Marie Harris Roszell of Connersville; his siblings and their spouses: Charles R. Roszell and Linda of Jacksonville, Florida; Becky S. Stewart and Arlis of Glenwood; Robert E. Roszell and Paula; Everett W. Harris, Jr.; Darrel E. Harris and Carletta; Ronald L. Harris and Glenna; Juanita F. Shipley and Randy, all of Connersville; his lifetime best friend: Richard Horn of Connersville; his companion: Erica Frye of Connersville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by an infant brother: Gerald Lee Roszell; and his grandparents: Arthur and Norma Roszell, Ernest and Goldie Mansfield, Charles and Nellie Rairden, George and Ida Delaney. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Tim Fluty of the Garrison Creek Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Village Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral costs.
