David A. Kennedy

David Alan Kennedy, 54, died Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014 at his residence. A Connersville native, David was born September 12, 1960 to Richard Alan and Jo Ann Riley Kennedy and attended Connersville area schools. He was employed at Ryobi Die Casting in Shelbyville and Casting Technology in Franklin. For several years, he was employed as a supervisor at PK U.S.A., Shelbyville. In his leisure time, David enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting and golfing. David also enjoyed walking the family dog and watching football, especially the Indianapolis Colts. In addition to his parents, David is survived by his son: Cory A. Kennedy of Shelbyville; his brother: Douglas Kennedy of Connersville; his sisters and their spouses: LuAnn Best and Ron, of Connersville; Laura Thompson and Dean of Blooming Grove; his nephew: Patrick Best and his wife, Jessica; his nieces: Jessica Jones and her husband, Tyler; Elizabeth Thompson; Ellen Thompson; several aunts, uncles & cousins; and his family’s miniature poodle: Joey. David is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Clyde and Miriam Kennedy; his maternal grandparents: Charles and Frances Riley. A Memorial Celebration of David’s Life will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:30 until the time of service Saturday where memorial contributions may be made to the family.
