Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Deborah L. Weaver, 75 of Liberty, died Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Reid Health of Richmond.
Debbie was born in Indianapolis, on July 9, 1949, the only child of J.C. and Eileen Troth Harris. She graduated from Howe High School in Indianapolis in 1967. Debbie began her career as a computer programmer with AT&T in downtown Indianapolis while attending the University of Indianapolis. She married the love of her life, James Mark Weaver, on April 28th, 1973. Her most recent career was as the school librarian at Union County Middle School. She faithfully served as the librarian for over twenty-seven years. In addition, Debbie was the Vice President of the Union County Public Library Board and a long-time coach and coordinator for the middle school academic teams and spell bowl team. Her passion for children’s education and her dedication to their success will be forever remembered. Although she spent countless hours impacting students’ lives, Debbie’s most important role was being a mother and grandmother. You could find her proudly supporting her grandchildren at all of their sporting and musical events. Debbie enjoyed vacationing with Mark and their family in Florida, Gatlinburg, and Dale Hollow Lake. She treasured time spent with family during the holidays and made each gathering a memory to be cherished. Debbie was known for being kind, compassionate, and selfless. Her love for her friends and family was so genuine, and she was never too busy to listen or support those she loved. Debbie provided her family and friends with a sense of comfort, wisdom, and security in all situations.
Debbie will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Mark, of fifty-one years; daughters: Courtney (George) Henry, Emily (Aaron) Jarvis, and Carrie Wolfe; grandchildren: Coleson, Ellie, and Cooper Henry, Tizeta, Grayson, Adanech, and Abram Jarvis, Willow and Lazarus Wolfe; and many special friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and another beloved family member, Travis Wolfe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Public Library in Debbie’s honor.
