Diana M. Hatfield, 65, of Connersville, died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Fayette Regional Health System.
A Bath, Ohio native, Diana was born October 23, 1951 to Virgil P. and Evelyn “Marie” White Turney. She was a 1970 Connersville High School graduate. Diana married Clifford L. “Cliff” Hatfield on October 29, 1973. While Cliff was enlisted in the Navy for eighteen years, Diana was appointed as a Navy Family Ombudsman, serving as a communication liaison between the command and families while navigating them through Navy life. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Diana was likeable by nature; she didn’t know a stranger. In her leisure time, Diana enjoyed playing bingo and being in the comfort of her home.
Diana is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Cliff; her children and their spouses: Bruce Pearson and Jennifer; Jennifer Sebring and Jim; Phillip Hatfield and Christy, all of Connersville; her siblings: Danny Turney and his wife, Paula of Kokomo; Dave Turney of Columbus, Indiana; Darlene Evans and her husband, Dennis of Lafayette; Dale Turney of Connersville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; several nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Diana’s Life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 to 1 p.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society.
