Dorothy J. “Dottie” Kramer, 91, of Liberty, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Sycamore Springs of Liberty.
Dorothy was a native of Grant County, Kentucky, born May 2, 1921 to William B. and Rhetta O. Henry Edwards. She attended school in Kentucky and Oxford, Ohio. On September 13, 1945, she was married in Rushville to George E. Kramer who died in 1975. Dorothy had been employed as a sales clerk at several area retail stores and retired in 1983 from K-Mart, Oxford, Ohio. She was a member of the Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church and the Connersville Bluegrass Association. She enjoyed her leisure time crocheting and reading.
Dorothy is survived by three children and their spouses: James R. Kramer and Kitty of Trenton, Ohio; Bill Kramer and Anna; Charlene F. Ross, all of Liberty; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her special friend: Joe Patton of Connersville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by an infant great-granddaughter: Chelsea Purdy; a brother: Henry Ross Edwards; an infant brother: Delphus Lee Edwards and a half-sister: Mary Belle Stultz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Interment will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Brookville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
