Douglas M. Noah, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the age of 81. Doug was born on February 28, 1942 to Earl and Elva Throckmorton Noah; he was one of fifteen children. Doug was born and raised in Buena Vista, Indiana. He was employed with New Pointe Stone Quarry and was later employed at D&M as a material handler until his retirement after many years of service. Doug was married to the late Marjorie Waywood Noah on September 8, 1962 in Brookville; they were married for 31 years prior to her death in 1993. Doug was a member of Calvary Baptist Church as well as Baptist Temple in Connersville. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the casino and horse track with his friends and family. After retiring, Doug continued to work, on a part-time bases at Fayette Regional Hospital and Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Homes. He was a longtime resident at Heritage House of Connersville, many thanks are extended to the entire staff at Heritage House as well as, Reid Health of Connersville and Richmond for the care and true acts of human kindness shown to all of us these last few years. Doug is survived by his daughter: Constance “Connie” Durham and Jamie; grandson: Kyle Risch and Taylor; brothers: Donnie Noah and Sharon, Everett Noah and Mary, Larry Noah and Joyce; sisters: Julia Kays, Faye Greene and Bill; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and Marge, Doug is preceded in death by his second wife: Annabelle Huffman Noah; brothers: Carter Noah, Russell “Buck” Noah, Albert Noah, Clarence Noah, Jim Noah, John Noah; sisters: Jessie Adams, Retha Kelley, Maxine Grubbs. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2023 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Eric Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Friends may attend visitation on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Humane Society in Doug’s honor.
