E. Malcolm Geise

Connersville, IN E. Malcolm Geise, 96, of Connersville, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at Lincoln Centers-East. Malcolm was born in Glenwood, October 10, 1914, to Daniel and Freda Link Geise and attended grade school there. In 1932, he graduated from Orange High School where he was an accomplished member of the basketball team for four years. Malcolm was married to the former Thelma Madison on October 10, 1937 in Erlanger, Kentucky. He resided and farmed the same farms in Harrison Township since 1936, retiring in 1970. He had served on various agricultural committees, the Farmers Home Administration and was an agent for Franklin County Farmers Mutual Insurance. In 1950, he served as the chairman for the Fayette County Census. For over 21 years, he drove the school bus serving Harrisburg. Malcolm was a member of the B.P. O. Elks #379, F.O. Eagles Aerie # 1065, Warren Lodge #15, F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, 32nd degree and life member of Fayette County Farm Bureau. Malcolm was loved by his family and friends, including his wife of over 73 years; two daughters: Brenda Stout and Cheryl Johnson, both of Connersville; four grandchildren and their spouses: Melissa Siggers and Tom, Randy Cates, Benjamin Q. Johnson, all of Connersville, Erika Johnson and her husband, Mark Enneking of Batesville; three great-grandchildren: Ryan Siggers, Rachel Siggers and Clayton McKinley; a niece: Marilyn Jackey of Indianapolis and many friends. In addition to his parents, Malcolm was preceded in death by his twin sister, E. Marguerite Webb and a brother: Kenneth Geise. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Rev. Mark Powell of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be made to the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department.
