Eileen Louise Brockmann Wooley, 81, of Liberty, died Saturday evening, November 1, 2014, at Reid Hospital, Richmond.
Eileen was born in Connersville, January 22, 1933 to Harry Louis and Ella Teresa Pitstick Brockmann. She attended St. Gabriel School and was a 1951 graduate of Connersville High School. On May 16, 1953, she was married at St. Gabriel by her uncle, Father Lambert Brockmann, O.F.M., to Elmer Carlyton Wooley, who died September 10, 2000. Eileen was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and a longtime member of TOPS. She was an accomplished musician and freely gave of her talent as the church organist, volunteering at Liberty schools in the music department and teaching piano lessons. Eileen played the violin as a member of the Richmond Community Orchestra, Richmond String Group and the former Richmond Symphony Orchestra. She had served for many years on the local election board and had been employed in the Union County Extension Office.
Eileen is survived by her children and their spouses: Jim Wooley and Brenda of Liberty, Ann L. Wooley of Quincy, Carol Rhoads and Gordon of Batesville, Tim Wooley and Sherry, Theresa Brashears and Larry, all of Liberty; Kathleen Brooker of Greensburg, Steven Wooley and Sue of Liberty, Susan Phenis and Shawn of Abington, David Wooley and Sue of Liberty; 30 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren with three more expected soon, two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her grandson: Nicholas Rhoads; a granddaughter, four sisters: Ellen May Brockmann, Olivia House, Dorothy Brockmann, Vera Brockmann; and two brothers: Louis V. Brockman and Fred Brockman.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Father John Luerman officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery, Rosary services will be conducted at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
