Eleanor “Ann” Kibbey, 72, of Connersville, died Wednesday evening, September 10, 2014, at Indiana University, Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
A Fayette County native, she was born November 8, 1941 to William J. and Julia Whisler Masters. On November 27, 1959, Ann was married to Vernon L. Kibbey, who died October 15, 2013. Together they collected dishes and Department 56 Christmas Village pieces. Ann was a member of the Valley Christian Church in Brookville. She most enjoyed the fellowship of family and friends. In her leisure time, Ann also enjoyed flowers, crafts, bluegrass music and animals, especially bird watching.
Ann is survived by her children and their spouses: Daren W. Kibbey and Kimberly of Liberty; Ryan D. Kibbey and Monica of Connersville; Sheila A. Kibbey of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Crystal Pugh and her husband, Aaron of Norfolk, Virginia; Caleb Kibbey and Jasmine Storm of Houston, Texas; Sara Kibbey and Storm Walling; Adam Kibbey, all of Liberty; Wyatt Kibbey; Allison Kibbey, both of Connersville; great-grandchildren: Christopher Pugh; Sean Pugh; Emma Kibbey; Colvin Walling; with another expected soon, several nieces and nephews; her dog and constant companion: Ginger.
In addition to her parents and husband of almost 54 years, Ann was preceded in death by her brother, John D. Masters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Phil Hester of Valley Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Columbia Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon Sunday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society or the Fayette County Animal Shelter.
