Elizabeth Ann Lewis Thompson, 65, of the Lakeview community in Franklin County, died Wednesday morning at her residence.
“Liz” was a native of Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas, born September 17, 1947 to Paul R. and Elizabeth Ann Darris Cook. In 1965, she graduated from Bell High School in Los Angeles, California. “Liz” moved to the local area in 1972 and was employed at Visteon in Connersville for sixteen years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed attending auctions, collecting Longaberger baskets and carnival glass and going to the casinos. She had a ‘green thumb’ and loved taking care of her plants.
“Liz” is survived by her four children and their spouses: Kevin D. Lewis and Jennifer of New Palestine; Lea Hall and her companion, Kelly White; Elizabeth Reed, Amanda G. Lewis, all of Laurel; seven grandchildren: Jasmine, Brittany, Darrell, Bailey, Danny, Brayden and Abigail; her miniature Pomeranian dog: Molly; a brother: Roy Cook of California; a sister: Fran Buerger and her husband, Cliff of Arizona; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents. “Liz” was preceded in death by her brother: Kenneth Brown; her sister: Anita; and her children’s father: Doug Lewis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 25165 US 52, in Franklin County, with Pastor Paul Storm officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel North Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
