Elizabeth “Liz” Callahan, 45, of Connersville, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Reid Hospital Richmond.
A Connersville native, Liz was born July 23, 1967 to Joe Douglas and Carol Ann Seniour Clark. She was a 1985 graduate of Connersville High School and attended cosmetology school in Muncie. Liz had been employed as a teller at 5th/3rd Bank. She enjoyed spending time with her great-nephew, Urijah Jaymes Pursifull and had an interest in gemology. In her leisure time, she enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.; fishing, boating and going to the riverboat casinos.
Liz is survived by her daughter: Desiree Callahan of Connersville; her siblings: Jeff Hightower of Terre Haute; Sherri Jaye Clark and companion, Ron Koehl of Indianapolis; Jo Ella Bunzendahl and companion, Dennis Brewer of Connersville; Jennifer Arnold of Winchester; Melissa Brumfield and her husband, Mike of Centerville; Kate Stuart and her husband, Ian of Cleveland, Ohio; her life partner: Alan Webb of Connersville; her step-Father Randy Smith and his wife, Rita of Louisville, Kentucky; her step-Mother: Bobbi Ann Clark of Connersville; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her brother: Ralph Templeton; and infant brother: Jeffrey Clark; her “Grandma” Myrtle Creech, who helped raise her; her maternal and paternal grandparents; Frank Creech and Jim “Big Jim” Creech.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Eric Hopkins of Connersville officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
