Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Moore, 76, of Liberty, died on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Reid Health in Richmond.
Betty was born in Richmond to Wayne and Bessie Lilly Davis on March 29, 1940. Betty never knew her mother who died shortly after childbirth. She was raised by Alberta Ingram Davis, her father’s second wife. Betty graduated from Liberty Short High School in 1959. On August 15, 1959, she married William “Virgle” Moore and enjoyed over fifty-three years together before he died on June 1, 2013. Betty was a homemaker and did a lot of babysitting over the years. She loved playing bingo, watching her grandchildren play sports, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by two daughters: Cindy Crane of Liberty and Vicky Pfledderer, and husband Scott, of Yorkshire, OH; a sister: Aneida Templeton of Walkerton, IN; grandchildren and their spouses: Tisha Donovan, Rachel Dunn and Rick, Nick Stout and Cory, Zack Stout and Kayla all of Liberty, Levy Stout and Ashley of Zionsville, and Sarah Alcorn and Michael of Connersville; eleven great-grandchildren: Tyler, Amanda, and Hanna Dunn, Lain, Emma, Jackson, Grace, Karlee and Owen Stout, Cameron Donovan, and Waylon Alcorn; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Carol Ramey, and a son-in-law, Keith Crane.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13th, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel in Liberty with Evangelist Doris Westerman officiating. Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, October 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to Union County Athletic Boosters.
