Ella Rader Baker, 81, of Connersville, died at her home Friday evening, March 20, 2015.
Ella was born in Foxtown, Kentucky, August 2, 1933 to Elisha P. and Betty Mae Rose Rader. She attended school in Kentucky and on June 5, 1948 she was married in Foxtown, Kentucky to Wilburn “Jackie” Baker, who died September 2, 2001. Ella was a member of the Park Road Christian Center and a former member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, her flower gardens and attending flea markets with her husband.
Ella is survived by her children and their spouses: Earl Baker and Barbara of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kelvin Baker and Anna of Rushville; Larry Baker and Wilma of Brookville; Judy Eide and Andrew of Rockwall, Texas; her daughter-in-law: Brenda Baker of Connersville; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, her sister: Arzella Russell of Milton; her sister-in-law: Beulah Rader of Connersville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ella is preceded in death by her son: James Baker; her siblings: Melvin, Granville, Dessmon, Tolby and Delbert Rader; Lella Steele, and Della Blake; infant brothers Ellis and Floyd Rader.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Rev. Lester Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday where memorial contributions maybe made to Park Road Christian Center or to help defray funeral costs.
