Ellen L. Siler

Ellen L. Siler, 91, of Connersville, died Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2014, at Fayette Regional Health System. Ellen was born in Union County, February 11, 1923 to John Raymond “Jack” and Mabel Neff Jones. She was a 1941 graduate of Connersville High School. From 1968 to 1988, Ellen was employed at Dresser Roots. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. In her leisure time, she liked to crochet. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her first husband: John Edward Allard; her second husband: Art Siler; her companion: Larry English; four sisters: Alice Moore, Betty LaMont, Edith Mason and Virginia Mason. Ellen is survived by her children: Karen Lore and her husband, David of Connersville; Donna Kollmar and her husband, Rob of Bozeman, Montana; Lauren Allard of Connersville; two siblings: Robert L. Jones and his wife, Frankie; Margery Sizemore, all of Connersville; her grandchildren and their spouses: Erin Adams and Megan of St. Petersburg, Florida; Andrea Butts and Randy of Zionsville; Joshua Lore and Rachelle of Carmel; Shannon Cruwys and Darren of Denver, Colorado; Sara Vosburg and Casey, Emily Peters and Dan, all of Bozeman, Montana; great-grandchildren: Katelyn Adams; Will, Jack and Tess Tyler; Grant Butts, Finn and Grayson Cruwys; Ava Dani Peters; several nieces and nephews; her former companion’s children and grandchildren: Amy McMillan and her husband, Jim of near Glenwood; Beth Fuller and Rod of Connersville; Abby and Andy Fuller, Olivia and Lauren McMillan. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Rev. Richard Swaim of Connersville, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday where memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
