Eunice M. Hurst, 90, of San Diego, California and former Connersville resident, died Monday, May 9, 2011, at Paradise Valley Hospital, National City, California.
On August 25, 1920, Eunice was born in Letcher County, Kentucky to Joseph and Rebecca Polly Webb. She graduated from high school in 1938 in Letcher County and married Edwin L. Hurst June 20, 1942 in Renfro Valley, Kentucky. After moving to Connersville, Eunice was employed at Connersville High School as a lunch room aide for 28 years. Her family and her faith as a member of Connersville Baptist Temple were most important in her life. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and in her leisure time, she liked to crochet.
Eunice is survived by her husband of over 68 years; four children and their spouses: Doug Hurst and Nancy of Columbus, Ohio, Roger W. Hurst of San Diego, California, Joy Hendrix and Rob of Noblesville, Jan Watkins of Indianapolis; a brother: Kenneth Webb of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren and their spouses: Heather Gonzalez and Joe of California, Adam Hurst and Jenny of Columbus, Ohio, Israel E. Hurst and Lisa Ferry of San Diego, California, Alice Marlow and Bruce of Kokomo, Rachel Brumfield and Jason of Connersville, Casey Larson and Christy of Greenwood, Corey Larson and Amanda, Ashley Sparks and Leo, Kyle Crowe, all of Indianapolis, Robert Hendrix II, Brad Hendrix and Tammy, all of Connersville, Jason Hutton of San Diego, California, Jaime Early of Phoenix, Arizona; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eunice is preceded in death by two sisters: Delty Philpot and Maude Higginbotham; two brothers: Clyde and Claude Webb.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Connersville Baptist Temple with Rev. Doug Kaler, officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 12 noon until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Connersville Baptist Temple. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery.
