Frances Thompson, 98, former Liberty resident, died Tuesday morning, August 20, 2013, at Golden Rule Nursing Center, Richmond.
Frances was born March 7, 1915 in Fayette County and had lived in Fairfield, Liberty and Franklin County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She also assisted her husbands in their jobs including farming, custodial services and television repair. Frances was a former member of the Fairfield Order of the Eastern Star and later Brookville.
Frances is survived by her nieces and nephews: Kathy Kline of Brownsville and family, Chris Toney of West College Corner and family, Jeff Bowers and family, Moochie Bowers and family, Jennifer Walker and family, Thomas Bowers and family, Leslie Hicks and family, all of Liberty; step-children and a special cousin: Frank Stoff, Jr. and his wife, Virginia of Lakeland, Florida.
Frances is preceded in death by her mother: Christine Kingery Personette; her first husband: Carl L. Bockover who died in 1966; her second husband: Walker W. Thompson who died in 1993; and a sister: Marlene Bowers.
Public graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Old Franklin Cemetery in northern Franklin County with Rev. John Hollis of Richmond, officiating.
