Freddie Howard Thompson, 81, died Saturday morning, December 17, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Freddie was born to Fred E. and Ethel Johnson Thompson on December 26, 1940, in Rowan County, Kentucky. He graduated from Wurtland High School in Kentucky. On August 15, 1990, he married the former Carol Madison-Junkins in Connersville. For over thirty-four years, he was employed at Visteon retiring in 1998. Freddie enjoyed camping, fishing and classic cars. His greatest treasure was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren that were his most prized possession. Freddie was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his church family.
Freddie is survived by his wife Carol; his children and their spouses: Tim Thompson and his wife, Monica; Monty Thompson; Michael Thompson and his companion, Wendy; daughter: Amy Wise and her husband, Billy; step children: Tom Junkins; Andrew Junkins and his wife, Amy; step daughter: Kristin Davis and her husband, Tim; grandchildren: Moriah; Lily; Tyler; Brittany; Patrick; Ryan; Lauren; Ella; Hannah; Brandon; Brooklyn; Brayson; Colton; Chandler; Hannah; Jake and Keith; nine great-grandchildren; his brothers: James Thompson, Jackie Thompson; Sherman Thompson; Wilbur Thompson and Virgil Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandchild: Bethany Thompson; brothers: Gary Thompson; George Thompson; Robert Thompson; Glennis Thompson and sister: Kathrine Thompson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 12 p.m., until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Freddie’s honor.
