Genovefa “Jenny” LaFollette, 70, of Connersville, died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her daughter’s residence. Jenny was born in Germany on November 3, 1946 to Lewis E. and Krystyna Helena Maria Czachowska Bergen and attended Park Place Church of God as a young child. She graduated from Connersville High School in 1964. Jenny had various occupations throughout her life but in 2009, she retired from Fujitsu Ten Corp of America, formerly in Rushville. Jenny enjoyed sewing and needle point. Her most notable creations include purses, embroidered pillowcases and quilts that she made for numerous family members. She loved to solve any kind of puzzle; especially crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Jenny was very proud of her Polish background and would always utilize old family recipes to feed her family and friends. Jenny will be remembered for the endless love she demonstrated to her family and to everyone she came in contact with. Jenny is survived by her children and their spouses: Kimberly K. Williams and Greg of Connersville; Lori Kimble and Scott of Centerville; Ernie LaFollette and Stacy of Milton; Roger LaFollette Jr. and his wife, Tonya of Connersville; her grandchildren and their spouses: Scott Mercaeant-Koohns and Lyon; Ashley Hundley and Nick; Jenna Faw and Shange; Colin Williams; Cody LaFollette; Megan Yingst-Coats and Brandon; Zach Kimble; Lilly Blue and Steve Schenk; Cara Brown; Krystyna LaFollette; Michael Wright; Allenah Miller; Jeanah Miller; Kadan Miller; Taylor LaFollette; Jordan LaFollette; her great-grandchildren: Emerson Claire, Garrett, Bella, Lilly, Julissa, Macaela, Hayden and Kaegan; her siblings: Michael L. Bergen; Cindy J. Wells and her husband, Roger; Bette L. Southerland, Ruby E. Shera, all of Connersville; her sister-in-law: Billie Bergen of Cambridge City; several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends: Mary Rogers and Sherry Morris. A special thank you to Reid Hospice. Jenny is preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Ralph E. Bergen and her brothers-in-law: Larry A. Southerland and Richard E. Shera. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Chris Lovett of the Crosspointe Biker Church in Connersville, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society or to the Haven.
