George Joseph Holt Sr., 54, of West College Corner, Indiana, died on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
George was born in Cincinnati on June 11, 1962, to Daniel John Holt Sr. and Mary Lou Kalb Holt. George was a 1980 graduate of Princeton High School in Sharonville. He was a meat cutter by trade and was employed in food service at Miami University in Oxford for seven-teen and a half years. On November 21, 2014, George married Bethany Crouch in Eaton, OH. George was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton and The Knights of Columbus. George loved gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family. He was a good cook and is known for his outstanding homemade sauerkraut.
In addition to his wife Bethany, George is survived by his mother: Mary Lou Holt of Springdale, OH; five sons and their spouses: George Holt Jr. and Jessica of Eaton, John Holt and David of Montgomery, Texas, Timothy Kwalton and Taylor of College Corner, Douglas Kelley Jr. of West College Corner, Issac Kelley of West College Corner; three daughters: Amanda Applegate and husband, Harry of Morrow, OH, Priscilla and Olivia Kelley both of West College Corner; a brother: Daniel John Holt Jr. and wife, Jill of West Chester, OH; seven grandchildren: Lilly, Adalie, Elijah, and Maggie Applegate, Brenna Taylor, Emmaline and Madison Holt; a niece: Mary Holt and a nephew: Benjamin Holt. George was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Showalter Blackwell Tilton Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, in College Corner, Ohio.
