Gloria Lynn Thurman

Gloria Lynn Thurman, 64, of Connersville, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, in the emergency room at Fayette Regional. Lynn was born November 11, 1951 in Connersville to Charles A. and Marguerite G. Williams Thurman. In 1971, she graduated from Connersville High School and then attended Bryman School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Lynn worked as a dental assistant in Beverly Hills, California and later worked as a claims adjuster at Blue Cross Blue Shield in McKinney, Texas. She was a member of the Phillipi Early Church of God in Connersville and had been a member of the Los Angeles Cathedral Choir in California. Lynn enjoyed word puzzles, watching movies, shopping and going out to eat. Lynn is survived by her Father; a sister: Andrea Thurman-Scott of Connersville; her brother and his wife: Cory L. Thurman and Sierra, all of Connersville; Uncles: Irvin F. Williams and his wife, Harriette of Culver City, California; Vincent M. Williams of Indianapolis, David G. Williams of Connersville; Aunts: Julia E. Williams of Connersville, Beverly Hutchinson of Indianapolis, Nancy L. Williams of Los Angeles, California; Leah J. Morris of Sandis, Mississippi; several cousins. Lynn is preceded in death by her grandparents and her Mother. A Home Going service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Indiana Avenue, Connersville, with Elder Richard Jackson of the Phillipi Early Church of God officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville is assisting with the arrangements.
