Grover H. Seever, Jr., died early Saturday morning, November 1, 2014, at Fayette Regional Health Systems.
Grover was born in Carlisle, Sullivan County, September 6, 1933 to Grover H., Sr. and Mary Alice Bowman Seever and was a 1951 graduate of Carlisle High School. In 1952, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he attained the rank of Sergeant prior to his honorable discharge in 1956. Grover had been employed at Design and Manufacturing as a press operator and was later employed as an independent insurance agent.
Grover is survived by his sons: Mark D. Seever of Rushville and Gary L. Seever of Connersville; his granddaughters: Lacy N. Speers and her husband, Alex of Waldron; Emily G. Seever of Connersville, Cassidy A. Seever of Rushville; a great-granddaughter: Grace Elizabeth Speers; Tiffany Welch of Connersville whom he raised and her children: Makayla and Jasmine Welch; his former wife: Betty A. Seever of Rushville; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Grover was preceded in death by his son: David W. Seever who died January 20, 2003; his brother: Charles Seever; and three sisters: Margaret Woodruff, Vae Strawn and Frances Phillips.
Private graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family at Dale Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Edwards of the First Southern Baptist Church, Rushville, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
