Harry A. “Hap” Price, 84, of Westfield and former Connersville resident, died Friday morning, October 7, 2011, at St Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.
“Hap” was born June 9, 1927 in Brookville, Ohio to Richard and Emma Johnson Price. In 1945, he graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton, Ohio. “Hap” was a US Navy veteran of WW II and Korea. On September 12, 1952, he was married to the former Kathryn Joan Kilgore in San Diego, California. “Hap” retired from Ford Electronics in 1989 as the Quality Control Manager following 17 years of service. His retirement years were spent in Florida and Indianapolis. “Hap” was an avid sports fan of basketball, football and baseball.
“Hap” is survived by his wife of 59 years; three children and their spouses: Connie D. Foy and Charles of St. Augustine, Florida; Vicki L Powell and Randy of Westfield; Mark Price and Kathleen of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters: Irene Ober and her husband, Julian of St. Leon; Christine Land of Hamilton, Ohio; three grandchildren: Kimberly Higgins of Orange Park, Florida; Heather Mulkey and her husband, Scott of St Augustine, Florida; Sarah Powell of Westfield; two great-grandchildren: Victoria and Sebastian Higgins; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, “Hap” was preceded in death by two brothers: Vernon and Robert Price; a sister: Hattie Lakes and an infant sister, Gladys.
Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, from 11 to 12 noon Tuesday, October 11, 2011.
