Helen Mildred Morrison, 88, of Liberty passed away in Crawfordsville on the morning of October 25, 2016
Helen was born in Jay County on August 30, 1928, to Harry and Grace Arnold Mahoney. Helen graduated from Alquina High School in 1946 and married Donald Morrison on March 26, 1950. The couple lived in Liberty and had three daughters, Patricia (Kim) Whipple, Rhonda (Tom) Curry, and Sharon (Ian) McLean. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Virgil Mahoney, and a granddaughter, Joni Curry.
Helen worked as a hair-dresser from 1949 to 1952 then was a homemaker until 1991. After Donald’s death, Helen worked for Area 9 meals program. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, and church activities. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and volunteered regularly for church activities, Meals on Wheels, and a poll worker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Greenwood United Methodist Church ~ 2973 E. Greenwood Church Road ~ Liberty, with Pastor Shelley Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in West Point Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels.
