Irene E. Hudson

Irene E. Hudson, 74, of Connersville, died Monday morning, March 10, 2015, at Fayette Regional Health System . Irene was born in Laurel, November 25, 1940 to John C. and Thelma S. Johnson Gray. On November 16, 1963, she was married in Connersville to Herman G. Hudson. Irene had been employed at Visteon, as a cook at the Starlight Lounge and most recently at Lincoln Centers. She devoted her life to caring for her son, Harold. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and had enjoyed bowling. Irene is survived by her sons: Lewis John Hudson; Harold E. Hudson, both of Connersville; her grandchildren: Eugene Hudson and his wife, Selena; Zack Hudson, all of Connersville; Lucas Hudson and his wife, Amy, of Springfield, Ohio; Cody Hudson of Connersville; her sister: Ellen L. Updike and her husband, Myron of Connersville; her brothers: James L. Gray and his companion, Mary Bell of Everton; Harold E. Gray and his wife Mary, of New Castle; Bill E. Gray and his wife Karlene, of Connersville; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband of forty seven years, Irene was preceded in death her parents; her sisters: Ruth Ann Hamilton; Shirley Gray; Patty M. Gibbs; her infant brother: Lewis Franklin Gray. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Village Creek Cemetery with her sister-in-law, Karlene Gray, evangelist, officiating. Friends may visit at the cemetery from 12:30 until the time of service. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
