Irvin Sizemore

Irvin Sizemore, 84, of Connersville, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Reid Health of Richmond. Irvin was born in Clay County, Kentucky on October 11, 1935, to Robert and Mally Davidson Sizemore. Irvin attended local area schools in Kentucky. After thirty-six years Irvin retired form National Metal, however his greatest passion was farming. Irvin married Joyce Fredrick on May 28, 1955, in Liberty, Indiana they were married for sixty-five years until her death in 2018. He enjoyed gardening, raccoon hunting, fishing, boating, square dancing, and was an avid wood worker. Irvin was a member of the Columbia Church. Irvin is survived by his son: James and his wife Mary of Connersville; daughters: Janet James and her husband Willard of Connersville; Joanne Sizemore and her husband Troy of North Carolina; sister Nancy Wilson of Richmond; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great child and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Joyce, and brothers: Estill, David, Bonnie, Everett and a sister Edith Collins. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Irvin’s nephew Randy Sizemore will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Garden of Memories. Friends may visit at the funeral an hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
