James Timothy Blacker, 64, of Liberty, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at his residence.
Tim was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 14, 1953, to James Keith and Marjorie Louise Buttery Blacker and attended Union High School in College Corner, Ohio. He had been employed as a reserve officer with the Union County Sheriff’s Department for 42 years and had owned and operated Whitewater Valley Golf Carts. Tim had also worked at Square D in Oxford, Ohio for 26 years. Tim was a people person that never met a stranger and was known as a big prankster. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandson and being outdoors golfing, hunting or fishing. His memberships include the Fairfield Lodge #98, F.& A.M. and the National Rifle Association.
Tim is survived by his wife, the former Lisa Gerholt, whom he married September 15, 2007 in Liberty; two children: Paul Casler and Nicole Casler, both of Indianapolis; his grandsons: Colt Goodman and Christian Jordan; his sisters and their husbands: Tari Reister and John, Vicki Wiwi and Steve, Kim Walton and Jon, all of Liberty; and six nieces.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his son: James “Jamie” Blacker who died August 31, 2002.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Liberty Church of Christ with Rev. Mick Miller officiating. Memorial masonic services conducted by the Fairfield Lodge #98, F.& A.M. will precede the service. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Jamie Blacker Scholarship Fund at the Union County Foundation.
