Jana L. Hensley, 57, of Liberty, died on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
Jana was born in Fulton, Kentucky on January 31, 1957, to Cecil and Jeanine Sillett Gardner. She attended Union County Schools and Ivy Tech College where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Jana married Randy Hensley on October 18, 1974, in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She was a member the Zion Tabernacle in Brownsville. Jana enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. The greatest joy in Jana’s life was serving the Lord, reading her Bible, and attending church.
Jana is survived by her husband, Randy of Liberty; two daughters: Rebecca Hockersmith and her husband Aron of Connersville, and Pamela Willett of Liberty; one son, Matthew C, Hensley and his wife Rebecca of Liberty; three brothers: Mark Gardner and wife Carole of Centerville, Gale “Buzzy” Gardner and his wife Kelly of Batavia, Ohio, and Michael Gardner of Milford, Ohio; three sisters: Jacque Adams and her husband Jeff of Liberty, and Jeri Johnson and husband Tom of Richmond, and Lagena Toadvine of Hartwell, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jana was preceded in death by both of her parents, also her step-mother Betty Gardner, her step-father Charles Johnson, a granddaughter Piper Hensley, and a grandson Jody Willett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1st, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st, where memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
