Janet Sue Jobe, 73, of Brownsville, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at her residence.
Janet was born in Muncie, June 1, 1939, to Thomas and Gwen Borders Antrim and graduated from high school in Gaston. She was a member of Resurrection Life Church in Wayne County and loved worshipping God. Janet was a true friend to many and liked to dance, cook and roller skate. She especially enjoyed watching her son and grandson in auto races and her grandchildren compete in sports.
Janet is survived by her children and their spouses: Mike Jobe and Susan of Liberty; Marlene Barrett of Brownsville; Lisa Norris and Randy of Muncie; her Mother: Gwendolyn Antrim of Kentucky; a brother: Thomas Antrim of Michigan; sisters: Linda Dunnick of Kentucky, Vicki Dunnick of Michigan, Jerri Muff of Kentucky, Cindy Clifford of Florida; nine grandchildren, a great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, David Jobe whom she married July 19, 1958; he died in January of 2004; a sister: Sandra Isaacs; and a granddaughter: Rachel Marie Barrett.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, with Marsha Newton of the Resurrection Life Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Brownsville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday where memorial contributions may be made to United Cerebral Palsy Association.
