Jason Andrew Rose, 44, passed away at home, Friday, December 9, 2016, after bravely battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma since June. Born March 31, 1972 in Richmond, to James A. and Rickie L. Harris Rose, Jason lived on the family homestead with his wife and high school sweetheart, the former Bettina Hanson, and his three children, Jaeger A., Huntyr M., and Jayden V. Rose. In addition, Jason has one brother, James “Aaron” Rose and his wife, “Deedee”. Jason was a loving and devoted son, husband, and father who will greatly be missed by many.
Jason graduated from Connersville High School in 1990. After graduation, he continued employment at Veco in Rushville as a machine shop welder until his wedding at St Gabriel Church on November 21, 1992. In 1992, he became involved in his childhood dream of farming with his family. He continued farming with his father, James, his uncle, Ronald Rose, and just recently his son, Jaeger joined the team.
Jason had several hobbies; among them riding his ATV with his children, deer hunting, target shooting, and cooking especially on his outdoor grill. He loved his home and spent much of his time in his front room sitting in front of his fireplace and outside in his garage. Jason possessed a “larger than life” personality; those who knew him, knew him to be an avid animal lover and one who was fiercely loving, supportive, and protective of his family.
In addition to his parents, brother, wife, and children, Jason leaves behind his paternal grandfather: Alden Rose; nephews: Austin Rose, Jett Rose, Dustin Hanson and Trevor Hanson; niece: Tori Hanson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Caroline Rose, his maternal grandparents: Howard and Mildred Harris, and his brother-in-law: Benjamin “Bo” Hanson. As are his wishes, there will be no public viewing; a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held to celebrate his life. The family requests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 5635 West 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
