Jeffrey S. Houze

Jeffrey Sean Houze, 43, of Connersville, died Sunday evening, November 26, 2017, at Reid Hospital, Richmond. A Connersville native, Jeffrey was born to Robert T. and Sheila A. Barber Houze on July 7, 1974. He attended Connersville High School and enjoyed Little League baseball as a child. Jeff was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker with Houze Construction which he owned and operated with his brother, Jamie. He liked to hunt, fish and help coach his girls’ t-ball and softball teams. Jeff is survived by his wife, the former Juscinda J. Drake whom he married February 2, 2009 in Connersville; his daughters: Madison and Ciara Houze; a step-son: Drake Kidd; his mother: Sheila Klein of Connersville; his father and step-mother: Robert T. and Rose Houze of Rushville; his brother: Jamie Houze of Connersville; his maternal grandmother: Miriam Barber of Connersville; step-brothers: Benjamin Klein of Connersville and Jason Klein of Florida; a half-brother: Wayne Crabtree of Connersville. Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Barber and his paternal grandparents, Fred and Dorothy Houze. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family following cremation. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
