Jenell “Janie” James, 73, of Connersville died March 22, 2017 at her residence.
Janie, a Connersville native was born February 22, 1944 to Walter K. and June D. Kendall James and graduated from Connersville High School in 1962. She was employed with Philco Ford and its predecessors until her retirement in 2005. Janie dedicated her life to God and was a lifetime member of Hill Top Tabernacle. She was also an associate member of the Indiana Wesleyan Holiness Association of Churches. Janie was a very generous woman and devotedly donated to numerous charities. She greatly enjoyed sending gifts and mementos to the whole family, especially the young children. In her leisure time, Janie enjoyed cooking, baking and attending family reunions.
Janie is survived by her siblings: Walter W. “Boot” James, Jr.; Patrick W. James, Sr. ; all of Connersville; Carolyn Davisson and her husband, Donald of Elsmere, Kentucky; Anna Belle Emswiller of Middletown, Indiana; her half-brother: Daniel James and his wife, Mary of Washington, Indiana; her sister-in-law: Edith James of Connersville; several nieces, nephews and her beloved church family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her siblings: Marilyn Quantz and Carroll E. “Tex” James, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday where memorial contributions may be to Hill Top Tabernacle.
